Why National Mathematics Day is celebrated:-

National Mathematics Day is celebrated on Srinivas Ramanujan's birthday for his excellent contribution to mathematics. Tribute to the great mathematician Srinivas Ramanujan on his birth anniversary. 


Origin of National Mathematics Day:-

Srinivas Ramanujan was born on 22 December in 1887 in Tamilnadu's Erode in Iyengar Brahmin family. In 2012, Prime minister Manmohan Singh declared Srinivas Ramanujan's birthday as the National Mathematics Day. This day is dedicated to him due to due to his significant contribution to mathematics to the Government of India.


On this day lots of mathematical activities are held for students. Various mathematics examinations and Olympiads are also held on this day to remember the significance of this National Mathematics Day. He was the greatest mathematics since all the time. He is also recognised as the Father of Physics.

He developed a modern mathematics. Srinivas Ramanujan was an ocean of knowledge and ideas that have really changed and reshaped 20th century mathematics. It is also useful and used since ever all the time in 21th century.

He was also one of the great members of Royal Society of Britain. He made a significant contribution to theorems. He was genius in mathematics. He was the "man who knew infinity". 



He was a skilled mathematician because he gave importance to mathematics. Give importance to mathematics and mathematics will also give importance to you. So Just try to understand it. The aim of this day is to increase awareness among students and for public understanding. We all should know the man who knew infinity.
