  1. What is Pollution ?

Pollution is an activity which humans do and pollute environment by various ways. Pollution is an harmful activity which affects our environment.

     2. How we create Pollution ?

Garbage, waste, plastic...... oh noo....
how to solve this problem ? Why pollution is increasing ? In which different ways do our surrounding gets polluted and many more questions are in front of us.
Today I will try to give the answers to this questions and let's analyse this in an easy way. First I will tell you a activity to do that just observe the garbage collected in the dustbin of your classroom/ home. And make a list of various materials in it and think who did this.

Why this materials can't be disposed and we have to throw them away. Our atmosphere is getting polluted due to ourselves Yes we are own polluting our own environment. Who we are ? to blame Government and various authorities.
We are daily making garbage and throwing it at wrong places. We don't have the right to blame the government because it is our responsibility to not to pollute our environment. Think about it. It's a serious problem. Many waste materials are generated through the various daily human activities. I just want to say that dont blame government or any other authority just start from yourself to not pollute oue environment and keep it safe. We own use plastic bags and blame others for plastic waste. All time we just get forget tto use cloth bags but say to others that they are using plastic bags. So let's start from ourselves to save nature.

      3. What are the causes of Pollution and what is solid waste ?

Many waste materials are generated through the various daily activities daily human activities. This is called the solid waste. if these waste materials are properly disposed of, then they can be a valuable source of energy. Currently solid waste is a serious worldwide problem as it causes both water and soil pollution. Solid waste is a serious problem from the point of view of economic growth, environmental degradation and health. It has posed a serious thread to nature and human habitat because the air, water and soil pollution it the causes.

      4. Solid waste management : need of the hour

Solid waste management is the need of the hour so everyone have to keep in mind that there should not cause pollution because of you. so you have save nature everyday and every moment. Solid waste management has become the need of the hour due to improper waste management.

      5. Garbage Production per day in big cities

Solid waste is generated everyday especially in big cities. Solid waste generated in big cities of the state is approximately as follows-

  Mumbai: 5000 tons
  Pune: 1700 tons
  Nagpur: 900 tons

On 26th July 2005, a serious and big calamity arise in Mumbai. Solid waste management was one of the main reasons behind that calamity. Thus we can see that improper solid waste management can lead to the various calamities.

   6. Harmful Effects of solid waste

  • Effect on Bio-diversity
  • spreading of diseases
  • Soil Pollution
  • Water Pollution
  • Air Pollution
  • Degradation of natural beuty
  • Bad odour of waste
  • Production of toxic gases
  • Causes various types of Pollution

   6. Necessity of solid waste management

1. For preventing environmental pollution and to keep the surrounding clean.
2. For energy as well as fertiliser production
3. To generate employment opportunities
4. To reduce the strain of natural resources
5. To improve the health and quality of life
6. To maintain environmental balance

   7. Necessity of solid waste management

Solid Waste can be managed by following these ways:

  • Biomedical waste management
  • composting
  • Safe landfill sites
  • vermicomposting
  • Pyrolysis
  • Separation and categorization of waste

Conclusion:

It is the need of the hour to implement solid waste management practices to avoid the possible problems due to solid waste generated from urban and industrial areas and to maintain a clean environment.
